About this course.
This qualification is designed for carers in the Disability industry that would like to advance in their career. To enrol into a Certificate IV in Disability, students must hold a completed Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) CHC33015 or CHC33021. You will develop skills to encourage staff and carers, providing professional support through quality care. Empathy and compassion are qualities this course will teach you. Being able to put yourself in another person’s shoes and build a true connection.
Learn all aspects of care during your course and put into practice during your onsite work placement at one of our partnering disability services.
What will you study?
Our Certificate IV in Disability Support comprises 10 units, including 7 core units and 3 electives. These units provide a comprehensive foundation in disability support, covering the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in this industry.

Manual Handling
Work Placement.
Overview
As part of our qualification you’re required to complete 120 hours of work placement during weekdays. Placements are generally full-time (120 hours in total), which not only allows you an opportunity to develop learnt skills but also valuable industry experience and could lead to employment opportunities.
We have long standing relationships with many Disability organisations. If you require assistance arranging work placement, we can connect you with an employer.
National Police Check, NDIS Check and Working With Children Check
A National Police Check, NDIS Check and Working With Children Check are required for anyone who works or volunteers in care positions in Disability Support in NSW. For information you can click here to read our student handbook.

Course Delivery.
This course is delivered via 3 modes of study and students can change between the different modes at no extra cost (subject to in-person class availability). We are student centric in our approach and work with students to ensure that our training meets their needs without additional charges.
Classroom
Delivered in-person at our College Campus in Granville.
Distance
Paper-based studies with access to one-on-one trainer support at our College Campus in Granville. Note that you will be required to come into our campus for some practical skills assessment which can not be done remotely.
Online
Digital learning is delivered online via our learner portal with access to one-on-one trainer support at our College Campus in Granville. Note that you will be required to come into our campus for some practical skills assessment which can not be done remotely.

Entry Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- You will need to have completed a Certificate III in Individual Support (disability) (CHC33015 or CHC33021) to enrol in this course. Click here to learn more about this course..
- It is encouraged that students are over 18 years of age, if a student is under the age of 18, guardian / parental consent is required.
- Students must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or applicable visa holder.
- Students must have a sound knowledge of English language, literacy, and numeracy LLN (this information is obtained at the enrolment process, prior to enrolment acceptance by h&h).
To complete this course you’ll need (depending on work placement / current employment industry):
- A valid Working With Children Check or;
- A valid National Police Check or;
- A valid NDIS Check.
Tuition Fees
All our fees are payable either in installments (we never take more than $1,500 at any one time) or in interest free weekly instalments of $85.

All h&h courses/qualifications are nationally recognised. The issuing of testamurs requires compliance with all processes. When competency has been achieved, students will be issued with a Qualification or Statement of Attainment (SOA) within 28 days of college staff receiving the finalised student file.
